What was your first experience with vinyl record players?
My first experience of vinyl has to be when I was around 8 years old, and my dad always used to play
the war of the worlds album, I seemed to be obsessed with the electronic sounds, the story, the booklet and the artwork inside.
(Thanks Amir I am going to sound a geek now hahahaha)
nah it's all good luv. no worries
Describe the first time you saw an underground d.j. mix?
In my teenage years a few of my friends from school used to dj, I would be there in front of the
speakers dancing away. It wasn’t until I was 16 that I first entered a club and experienced that kind of atmosphere.
Is there anyone out there who took you under their wing(so to speak), when you first started? ( i.e. borrowing/using
records or turntables, playing at their house etc?
At the very beginning I used to watch my ex partner dj and think ‘right I think ill have a
go at that’, he showed me the very basics so I then went away and practiced by myself. When our relationship came to
an end I bought my own turntables, living without them and being unable to play my records was a nightmare to begin with!
Can you describe the scene you were a part of at the time?
The music that I was playing at the time was underground house and techno.
Do you dance?
Hahaha…do I dance?..Try stop me!!!!..I am usually the first up and last to leave the dance
floor (dancing next to speakers does strange things to me!) hehe
yeah, my girl marissa told me about how sub bass can effect women. it's all about the vibrations.........
What are your feelings about d.j.'s who do or do not dance?
I think that djs/performers who dance are feeling the energy from there choice of music and the vibe
around them, maybe the ones who don’t dance are a little shy or are not feeling the music that they are playing.
yeah, i feel that to really touch people on that metaphysical level, one must have the soul of a dancer..........
What inspires you?
Inspiration comes in many forms, mainly from people around me, and my emotions.
Why?
I love people who have generous hearts and time for you; this lifts me up and drives me more.
As a d.j. or producer, what are you trying to do?
To spread the love of music to old skool ears and the new skool generation.
How do you feel about the state of dance?
Hmmm, the state of dance music always ebbs and flows, but it will never die as there is always people
passionate about it to keep the scene alive
yeah, i guess that you're right. sometimes i feel as though the youth are completely lost and misguided. here in the
states, we have no national culture. our country is still so young, and as a result our culture is dictated by what's on t.v.
u.s. culture is popular culture. a culture which changes with the fads and trends of each generation. i try to remain hopefull
about the state of dance. if not, i guess that there's no reason to continue.............
Do you lend a hand to up and coming d.j.'s ?
I will help anyone who’s serious about djing/producing by sharing my knowledge, as plenty of
people have shared theirs with me in the past.
What can the world expect from you in the next 12 months?
In the next 12 months I have set myself little goals to keep on promoting my music and hoping that
it will get the love being played as much as I loved writing them.
girl, i've heard your music, and i believe that you have big things coming.and as a d.j. i know that other selectas will
want to get their hands on it as well............
How about the next 5 years?
The next 5 years, who knows, I just take life in little steps and enjoying each day that arises.
Where can people come to hear you play?
I have took a step back from djing as I have being spending a lot of time producing, this year has
been a time for writing music and building up a nice white tan! Next year I aim to be playing out a lot more, I have a few
things up my sleeve. The next gig I have is in October playing a live set.
exciting!
Do you vote and do you think that it is important fro the youth to be politically aware?
Yes I do vote, and I do believe that it is important that the youth of today participate in matters
of political importance for every decision that is made now will effect each and every one of us in the future.
Of course, I must ask about your best and worst gigs......and why?
My best gig was probably my first, at a big house party in London.
My worst experience was probably when I was playing in a bar and I dropped smack my bitch up
by the prodigy, a man came up to me and started giving me abuse for playing it, this ended up in a quarrel about music, but
there has been a few more incidences usually to do with the public.
yes my worst was also a confrontation w/ the public so to spea........k.
Any advice for your peers, or those who will come after you?
My advice is to keep on doing what you love and take note from people around you, there’s always
plenty of advice and people who care around you.

QUESTION
Vinyl or c.d.'s ......and why?
Hmm tough one, I originally started out with vinyl and I always said that I would never touch cd
decks but now with producing my own material I think it would maybe be an investment for myself to look into buying some (but I will never get rid of my vinyl).
